Back in Black (and Purple) 22/10/11

Close up of one of the running boards
Close up of the boot lid.
One of the guards and the front panel thing (I don't know what it is called)
I need to clean the blue protection off the front tyres and need to clean the white walls on the back tyres

A lot of hours was spent on this quarter to get it as straight as this.

In the booth. 22/10/11

Elvio laying down the first coat of PPG Black on the bolt on panels.
This guard reacted to something and bubbled up. Luckily it was the only panel that played up.
The wheels are painted the same colour as the firewall, Morpheus.
It felt good pushing it into the booth.

First coat of colour
My paint plan was that the car was always going to be satin black with a purple pearl firewall and rims. Even though the car looked good in satin after speaking to Elvio and other owners of satin cars I decided that it should have a clear coat on it to protect the paint.
Paint flows shiny off the gun but dries dull.

First coat of clear on the guards and body. Even with one coat of clear the black looks really deep.
Second coat of clear
All done. Baked Black 2 Pack.

More exhaust work. 25/09/11

Back to front view
Pipes over the diff. All thats left are the tail pipes
Semi restricted mufflers
All Mandrel bends and tig welds
Cross over pipe. The only place it will fit is between the pan and gearbox mount. Not the ideal place that I wanted it but because of the lack of space I had no choice but to get it put there.
Hidden flange welds.
Plenty of ground clearance. Pipes will be hidden by the running boards.

Exhaust work. 15/09/11

Car is getting the exhaust made September 2011
